Kiteboarding to crib design.

Guava Family has its roots in the action sports industry, where technologies and products are pushed hard, beaten, and stressed. Kiteboarding technology has been refined and iterated upon over the last 15 years to withstand this kind of abuse. We have utilized our experience with this technology, adapted it to a new product category, and made it even tougher.

Kiteboarding kites have a rigid-inflatable leading edge that gives them a lightweight, yet solid frame when setup, but allows them to pack down into a small backpack when not in use.

The key design insight: large and rigid when in use, small and compact when not.

Guava Family has developed the GoCrib using this same technology. The GoCrib frame is a rigid-inflatable structure - the same high-end strut materials, and we have even tripled the thickness of the air bladders to achieve superior stiffness and puncture resistance. We’ve designed the structure geometry so it’s safe, sturdy, redundant, and durable.

This knowledge and experience has enabled us to create a portable crib that has all of the features that a portable crib should. Strong and Safe. Light and Ultra-Portable. Fast and Easy. Fun and Inviting.

Design process.

A two-pronged approach was taken for the design of the GoCrib. Most cribs are designed only with parents in mind, creating hard spaces that feel more like a jail or a cage than a safe place for the child. The GoCrib's design appeals to kids as much as the modern colors and lines appeal to parents.
